Workshop Description
Increasingly, having a thriving counseling practice requires you to stand out in terms of your technical expertise, your professionalism and your personal enthusiasm. This workshop is designed to re-inspire you, provide valuable clinical skills and perspectives, and help you refine your vision for personal and professional excellence.
Combining the successful treatment model of NLP with somatic awareness, body-centered and energy psychotherapies and expressive arts, participants will learn relational ways of engaging both the sensory and rational parts of the brain to balance the emotional (limbic) system. Improving your brain integration will improve your effectiveness, helping your clients improve theirs will make you more outstanding professionally! Interventions will draw on Mindfulness, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hakomi, Energy Psychology, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Self-relations and the Martial Arts,
Participants will learn, practice and integrate:
· Ways to teach helpful skills to a wide range of clients in fun and creative ways
· methods for increasing emotional regulation
· energy psychology interventions for improving distress tolerance and increasing emotional regulation
· methods for improving rapport and limbic resonance
· methods for improving mindfulness
. methods for more effective self-advocacy
Learn these life-enhancing skills by experiencing them in your body and playing with them in creative exploration with other workshop participants.
Our goal is to give you concrete and specific tools for staying balanced, embodied and resourceful while working effectively with your clientele. This workshop will help you balance your clinical desire for effective and structure interventions with your personal desires for freedom, creativity and being authentic and engaged in the therapeutic setting. We believe that the more fulfilled you feel in your work, the more naturally charismatic and outstanding you will be professionally!
This workshop will be intensive, energizing, and presupposes clinical education and experience. It is suitable for interns and seasoned professionals. Prior training in these modalities is NOT required. Participants will come away re-inspired with skillful and aesthetic interventions to use immediately.

12 sessions of 1.5 hrs each.
Each 1.5 hr session includes a physical warm-up or mindfulness exercise, a brief talk and an experiential process.
8:30 - 4pm Fri, Sat, and Sunday. Registration begins at 8 AM Friday.
